01
Recognizing Life-Threatening Emergencies
How to rapidly assess an unresponsive victim, identify cardiac arrest vs. respiratory arrest, and activate the emergency response system without losing critical seconds.
02
High-Quality CPR: Adults, Children & Infants
Compression rate, depth, recoil, and the techniques that actually improve survival outcomes - for all three patient types, in both single-rescuer and two-rescuer scenarios. Built on the 2025 AHA Guidelines, the most current evidence-based standards available.
03
AED Operation
How to deploy an automated external defibrillator quickly and safely, including pad placement, voice prompt interpretation, and coordinating shock delivery with ongoing compressions.
04
Bag-Valve-Mask Ventilation
The E-C clamp technique, proper seal, and how to deliver effective breaths without over-ventilating - a key skill that distinguishes BLS-level providers from lay rescuers.
05
Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction (Choking)
The updated 2025 AHA protocol: five back blows followed by five abdominal thrusts for conscious adults, and modified techniques for children, infants, and unresponsive victims.
06
Team Dynamics & Resuscitation Roles
How effective two-rescuer teams coordinate compressions, ventilations, AED operation, and communication during a real emergency - the skill that separates trained providers from panicked bystanders.
07
Opioid Overdose Response
The 2025 AHA Guidelines formally integrate naloxone (Narcan) into BLS protocols. We cover recognition of opioid-associated respiratory and cardiac arrest and where naloxone fits in the response sequence.

Hands-on skills practice with manikins and AED trainers. Course reflects the 2025 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. Upon successful completion, you receive an AHA BLS Provider eCard valid for two years - accepted by hospitals, EMS agencies, clinical programs, and healthcare employers nationwide.

Renewal (8-hour) and initial courses available. Please confirm with your employer which course type is required.
