01
Arizona (CWP)
A shall-issue permit valid for 5 years, recognized in 30+ states - one of the most widely accepted non-resident permits in the country. No live-fire requirement for the permit itself, but broad training acceptance means your Maryland HGP training may satisfy Arizona's requirement.
02
Florida (CWL)
A 7-year permit with strong reciprocity across the Southeast and beyond, issued to non-residents using the same process as residents. Florida requires demonstrated firearm competency, including live-fire, completed within one year of application.
03
New Jersey (PTC)
One of the most demanding carry permit processes in the nation. NJ requires fingerprinting, an SBI number, four personal references, a rigorous CCARE qualification protocol, and good moral character review. We'll walk you through exactly what's required and what to expect.
04
Pennsylvania (LTCF)
Pennsylvania issues Licenses to Carry Firearms to non-residents. Particularly valuable for Maryland carriers given its geographic proximity - and the legal complexity of traveling through the region armed.
05
Utah (CFP)
A 5-year permit recognized in 36 states - among the broadest reciprocity footprints available. Non-residents are eligible, but Utah requires that applicants already hold a permit from their home state. Your Maryland HGP satisfies that requirement.
06
Virginia (CHP)
Virginia is a shall-issue state that issues non-resident concealed handgun permits. Strong reciprocity across the mid-Atlantic and Southeast makes this a natural addition for Maryland carriers who travel south or west.
07
Washington DC (CPL)
DC issues concealed pistol licenses to non-residents, but the process is notably strict: your pistol must be registered in DC, and DC does not honor any other state's permit - nor do most states honor DC's. We cover DC's requirements and carry restrictions so you understand exactly what carrying in the District entails before you decide whether to pursue the permit.

Live-fire qualification included where required. All equipment provided.

Carry Laws & Prohibited Locations Where you can and can't carry, what signage means legally, and the location-specific rules that vary dramatically by state.

Use of Force & Legal Standards Stand Your Ground vs. Duty to Retreat, Castle Doctrine variations, and what "justifiable use of force" actually means in each jurisdiction - because the rules change when you cross a state line.

Safe Transport Between States Federal Firearm Owners Protection Act (FOPA) protections, what they cover, and where they end.

Application Processes, Fees & Timelines Exactly what each permit costs, how long processing typically takes, and what documentation each state requires - so you leave class ready to apply.
